Plans for KISD Schools

Just recently, at the end of November 2014, Katy ISD officials approved plans to build four new schools in Katy, TX, as well as the renovation of almost a dozen other buildings in the area. The $748 million dollar project will provide the city with its eighth high school, fifteenth junior high school, and up to the thirty-ninth elementary school.

PBK Architects will build the high school and junior high together on Stockdick School Road and Peek Road, west of the Grand Parkway. The combined campus will cost around $202 million, and it is scheduled to open in time for the 2017 school year.

VLK Architects will build the 38th and 39th elementary schools in the Katy area with a construction cost of about $28 million for each. The identical elementary schools are planning to open for the 2016 school term. Elementary school No. 38, or as it’s called, Cinco Northwest, will be built near the intersection of FM 1463 and Crossover Road. East Ventana Parkway southwest of the new high school and junior high is the location of the 39th elementary school.
