Katy’s Park & Ride System Coming Soon

We are all aware of the immense traffic concerns in the Katy area, notably due to its increasing population. As covered by Community Impact, Katy is looking to introduce a park and ride transportation system, which is still in early stages of planning.

Projected to complete in 2016, the Fort Bend County Transportation Department will develop the facility off of Mason road, adjacent to the Westpark Tollway. Predominately serving those in Cinco Ranch, the lot is planning to be able to park 278 cars, which will hopefully ease commuting frustrations.

In addition to this, the METRO board of directors met in February to approve a new system map for transit routes in the Houston area. With 104,000 commuting weekly out of Katy every day, METRO recognizes the need the alleviate commuter traffic.
