Craig Biggio’s Sports Bar Set to Open Downtown this Fall

Recently covered by Visit Houston, Houston baseball legend Craig Biggio announced the second week of April that his sports bar Biggio’s is set to open across from Minute Maid Park this November. The two-level restaurant will be a part of the new Marriott Marquis hotel and convention district downtown.

Biggio’s is upscale sports bar plans on offering high quality steaks, burgers, and wings as well as local craft beers, wines, and cocktails. Guests can watch all the big games from wall-to-wall TVs alongside Astros memorabilia. Biggio has said he intends to be at the restaurant as often as possible. The Hall of Famer second baseman spent his entire baseball career with the Astros and still resides in Houston, acting as a special assistant to the Astros GM.

Biggio’s is one of six concepts that will be a part of the Marquis. The hotel is set to make quite a mark on downtown’s culture and cuisine. The Marriott Marquis will boast of 1,000 guest rooms and over 100,000 square feet of meeting space, including Houston’s largest ballroom. Guests will enjoy quick access to George R. Brown Convention Center via skybridge, and a location convenient to popular attractions in the nearby theater and entertainment districts. The Marquis will have a unique Texas-shaped lazy river to float and a heated infinity pool — all on their rooftop overlooking Discovery Green Park. The hotel will also feature a full-service spa and fitness center, high-energy two-story sports bar, two specialty restaurants, wine bar, café, and pool bar and grill.
