Room by Room Designs in 2016

We love the fresh start, potential and possibilities that a new year brings. This phenomenon happens both individually and as a society. Pop culture, design and fashion trends renew every year. With the help of Houzz.com, consumers and design professionals weighed in on room by room trends for this year.

Kitchens

Houzz.com followers chose black stainless steel kitchen appliances that are easy to clean and stylish at the same time. Two-toned cabinets were also popular because of its unique look and versatility. This kind of kitchen cabinet design may be adapted to fit any kitchen style.

Dining Rooms

The Houzz report mentions that formal dining rooms are attracting more attention these days. We aren’t seeing a demand for the return of a traditional separate room designated only for dining, but there is some push back from the idea that we all gather in one place for a meal. An open concept kitchen design can give a dining space a clear function and personality of its own without having to close it off with walls.

Bathrooms

There are a great number of trends preferred in the bathroom such as bidets, walls with bold patterns, ornate chandeliers, statement mirrors and so on. All the bathroom trends aim to diminish the practical feel of the room by adding sophisticated, statement pieces.

Living Rooms

New living room trends have not really diverted far. Trends such as wood-burning fireplaces along with mantles are still very popular and remain focal point in a living room. The current focus is to have at least one area in a modern home that is free from digital control. According to Houzz followers, living rooms are seen as an area where homeowners can find peace even when everything is run digitally.
