IL Texas Charter School Coming to Katy

Last Thursday, January 7th, a groundbreaking ceremony took place for a new charter school, International Leadership Texas Charter School, on the corner of Porter Road and Franz in Katy. This location is only one of many planned locations for ILT Charter School. Shortly following the Katy groundbreaking, six other locations will break ground and serve Katy, Houston, and Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Each campus, including the Katy location, will be more than 90-thousand square feet with the capacity to serve more than 14-hundred students per campus. ILT is a college preparatory free public charter school (k-12) which requires each student to learn three foreign languages and to exemplify their servant leadership motto of “Others Before Self.” Currently serving about 5-thousand students with six thousand students on waiting lists, January’s six ground breaking ceremonies will provide more than eight thousand new seats, making ILT one of the fastest growing charter schools in the United States.

The ILT mission statement reads, “To prepare students for exceptional leadership roles in the international community by emphasizing servant leadership; mastering English, Spanish, and Chinese; and strengthening the mind, body and character.”
