Houston is not the only city in this area that has revealed huge design visions to transform its infrastructure. Katy, TX has a major project in the works that will add to the city’s desirability and popularity. With Katy growing still at an exponential rate, it was only a matter of time before it revealed such a plan.
In Katy, TX, Katy Development Authority has revealed plans to create a boardwalk of sorts behind Katy Mills Mall. This major renovation is projected to take anywhere from eight to ten years to reach completion, and estimates for cost are about $49 million.
The Katy Mills Boardwalk will add a convention center complex, hotel, parking garage, office and retail spaces, and more. The convention center will be built along an 80 acre retention pond, and the pond will also be surrounded by a 2 mile boardwalk. The preliminary plans are still on the drawing board, and we plan to keep a close watch on the development of this project.
